Volunteer Tools for Garden Clubs
Plan the workday. Fill the shifts. Know who showed up.
Set out your garden jobs, let members and neighbors take a shift, and keep the record of hours served.
Gardens run on shifts: weeding, watering, planting, a plant sale. This page shows how to set those out so members and neighbors can pick a time and show up ready.
What you run, and how the site helps
Workdays and watering schedules
Fill the weekly jobs and spread the watering around.
How the site helps: Set your workdays and watering rounds as shifts, and the site keeps count of how many spots each one needs and how many are filled.
Plant sales and open days
Setup, tables, cash handling and cleanup are separate shifts.
How the site helps: Give each job at the sale its own shift, then check people in on the day to see who is there and for how long.
Beautification projects
A planting at the library or a median needs a scope and a timeline.
How the site helps: Describe the planting once with a scope, a timeline and a checklist, and plan it into phases, tasks and shifts.
Joining forces
Work with a school, a congregation or a neighborhood group on a shared planting.
How the site helps: List a school, congregation or neighborhood group as a participating organization on the planting, and recruit together.

Questions
Do volunteers need an account?
No. Volunteers pick a shift and sign up in seconds, without creating an account.
Do we need a new website?
No. Your organization gets its own page on neighborpowered.com the day you connect, and you can add a link, button, WordPress block or embed to the website you already have.
Can kids sign up?
No. The site is for the adults who organize and volunteer, and we never ask for children's names, photos, birthdays or schools. Families are always welcome to come together to a workday.
