Safety and Trust

How we approach safety

• Every published project sits behind a verified organization — we check organization identity before a portal goes public.
• Individually-proposed project ideas cannot recruit volunteers or go live until a verified organization agrees to sponsor and take responsibility for them.
• Every volunteer signup includes an activity waiver covering assumption of risk and on-site conduct, shown before you agree to it.
• Attendance is tracked at check-in, and hosting organizations can review who actually showed up for each project.

We would rather grow slower than publish a project, or approve an organization, that isn't ready to operate safely.

What we don't do

Neighbor Powered doesn't supervise projects in person, run background checks on volunteers or organizers, or carry insurance for hosted projects. Those responsibilities belong to the hosting organization — see the Organization Terms.
