Platform Terms

Last updated August 5, 2026

These are the general terms for using NeighborPowered.com. If you're volunteering for a project, the Volunteer Participation Termsalso apply. If you're representing an organization, the Organization Terms also apply.

What Neighbor Powered is

Neighbor Powered is a project-organizing platform. We help verified local organizations plan community projects, recruit and schedule volunteers, and document completed work. We are not the employer of any volunteer, we do not supervise projects ourselves, and we do not receive, hold, or disburse donations or payments of any kind on this site.

Accounts

Organization accounts are created through our verification process and are for use by authorized representatives of that organization. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.

Acceptable use

Don't use the platform for anything illegal, unsafe, discriminatory, or outside the scope of a legitimate community project. See the Acceptable Use page for specifics.

Content

You keep ownership of what you post (project descriptions, community posts, photos). By posting it, you give Neighbor Powered permission to display it on the platform as part of operating the service — for example, showing your project on the public map or your organization's profile.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The platform is provided “as is.” We work to keep verification, scheduling, and safety information accurate, but Neighbor Powered is not a substitute for an organization's own judgment, supervision, and insurance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Neighbor Powered is not liable for injuries, losses, or disputes arising from a project itself — that responsibility sits with the hosting organization, consistent with the Volunteer Participation Terms.

Termination

We may suspend or remove an account that violates these terms, misrepresents an organization, or puts participants at risk. You can stop using the platform and request account deletion at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.
